Abigail Castillo

Site Coordinator, Warden Junior and Senior High School, Warden School District, Make Change 21st CCLC

Abigail Castillo was born in Moses Lake, Washington and has lived in the nearby town of Warden for most of her life. She received an AA degree from Big Bend Community College and a BA in English from the University of Washington.

Rather than searching outside her immediate circle for role models, Abigail finds plenty of them among her friends and family members. She tries every day to live up to the advice her father instilled in his children: “Work hard, be kind, do good.” Every time she sees the faces of her students go from bored and overwhelmed to happy and excited as they become involved in a new project, she knows she’s doing the right thing.

Abigail has been in love with theater since she was very young, taking advantage of every opportunity to perform in talent competitions, plays, and musicals. During high school, she starred as Alice in a production of Alice in Wonderland; she also played the role of Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Her love for theater continued at the UW, where she acted in productions of Seussical and Legally Blonde. She’s always looking for ways to bring her love of theater to her current position, maybe one day helping the students in the music and drama departments to produce a show.

Abigail’s most prized possessions are her PlayStation 5 and her Iron Flask water bottle, which have served her well for years and have proven to be as indestructible as they are indispensable.
