Bertha Villa-Maldonado

Bertha Villa-Maldonado has a Bachelor of Arts in Education, endorsed in Spanish, English Language Arts (ELA) and English as a Second Language (ESL) from Eastern Washington University. She received a Masters in Foreign Languages/Cultures and Pedagogy from Washington State University, and completed Ph.D. courses in Literature at Arizona State University with an emphasis on Mexican-American literature.

An experienced and gifted teacher, Bertha has taught Spanish at Washington State University, Arizona State University, Wenatchee Valley College, and several high schools in Washington State. She taught English as a Second Language at Okanogan High School and Arizona High School, and currently teaches at Tonasket Outreach School. She loves her job because it offers her the opportunity to work with students and make a difference in their lives

When she is not working, Bertha loves to spend time dancing, reading, traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and eating anything her husband cooks. She and her husband Rene are the proud parents of two wonderful sons, Andres and Alejandro.
